Applications are invited in standard form of application for engagement of following temporary project staff for "Jorhat Science Centre-cum-Planetarium" for 11 (eleven) months or till the continuation of the project, whichever is earlier. (i) Project Scientist (one no. - With the responsibility of a Curator): Essential Qualifications (EQ): 1st Class M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Bio-Science/Environmental Science + MBA with 1 year relevant experience in scientific work/science communication
Or, 1st Class Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/ Instrumentation/Computer/Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering + MBA with one year relevant experience in scientific work/science communication
Or, M.Tech./ME/MS(Engg.)/Ph.D. (Science)

Remuneration: Rs.25,000.00 (fix pay) + PF contribution

Job Requirement: Design and development of exhibits, audio-visual demonstrations, teaching aids, etc. development of museum sections on various subjects of science & technology, organisation of educational programme for different categories, research on History of Science & Technology, Museum techniques, and evaluation of exhibits of all pertaining to the developmental activities of the museum/centre, assisting in day-to-day work and administration of the Centre.

(ii) Project Assistant (Academic - one no.): EQ: B.Sc. with major in any one of the subjects - Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, with one year experience of teaching science in school.

Remuneration: Rs.10,000.00 (fix pay) + PF contribution

Job Requirement: EQ: Conducting educational programme including demonstration/lecture in outside museum, helping curator in the development of teaching aids, visitors' research, publicity, public relations and other programmes, programming for mobile science exhibition. The selected candidate has to take additional responsibility of office maintenance works.

(iii) Technician (two nos): HSLC passed with certificate from ITI or equivalent institute in Carpentary/Electrical/Electronics with one year experience after obtaining the certificate

Remuneration: Rs.6,000.00 (fix pay) + PF contribution

Job Requirement: Operation, repair, fabrication, handling, packing, installation and maintenance of exhibits, instrument installation, etc.

(NB: For all positions above prescribed degrees/certificate should be from a recognised university/institution)
Candidates may have to appear for a written test or oral test or both, which will be intimated to the candidates in due course. Selected candidates may require to stay at National Council of Science Museums, Kolkata, initially, for their training and then will be placed at Jorhat Science Centre-cum-Planetarium.
