Leather
Goods and Garment Training Centre
The
S&T Division of the Council
had set up a training centre
for leather goods and garment
making in the premises of Industrial
Training Institute (ITI), Guwahati
in collaboration with the Central
Leather Research Institute,
Chennai and in association with
ITI, Guwahati under the Leather
Technology Mission (LTM). The
basic objectives of the centre
is to train youths of the N.E.
Region in making consumer leather
goods and garment which will
enable them to start their own
enterprises in this line of
leather goods and garment making
which has very high potential.
Regular training programme of
6 months duration with an intake
capacity of 12 trainees in each
have been conducted in the centre.

trainees had been trained
on Leather Goods and Garment
from 1st August 2005 to
31st January 2006 |

Two
trainees has been set up
their own production unit
in Guwahati and Baihata
Chariali, Kamrup |

Two
trainees had been working
as master operator in already
established units, in Guwahati |
|
Counseling
was provided by personnel
of ASTEC to the outgoing
trainees in the line of
setting up of SSI unit and
product development and
its marketing on leather
goods and allied products.
Three trainees had set up
their own production units
at Guwahti and developed
good market of their products |
